Microsoft - Facebook Application  / Local Giving

My team was asked by Edelman Digital to design and develop a sustainable Facebook charity solution for the launch of each new Microsoft Store. We wanted to allow the community managers of each store control of the giving initiative at the local level, while still acquiring global likes to the Facebook Microsoft store page and maintaining brand standards.

This initiative engaged local communities with a voting application that supported the Microsoft Store's opening charity donation program.

The application also allowed for the standard Facebook wall posting, as well as the follow up share capability. Metrics and votes tracking were additional features of the application.

Microsoft Social -  Facebook Application / Just In

Asked to create a Facebook solution that created an interactive, story-like experience that connected Microsoft Store products through engaging a range of customers' interests and lifestyles, we proposed the Just In Facebook application.

The platform consisted of "themes" which told the story and were composed of "slides" of art text assets, which then linked out to destination URLs. URLs pointed to products within the store, or alternately sent people to contests, videos, photo galleries, other Microsoft properties or any other URLs.

The flexible architecture of a custom content management system (CMS) allowed for efficient deployment of themes in the Facebook environment and ongoing support of product launches and promotional campaigns. Assets could be assembled, linked, previewed, published and archived on an ongoing basis. The platform leveraged the true power of SMM by connecting to lifestyle needs, marketing needs, annual promotions and product launches.
